Peg or marble Solitaire is a board game for one player involving movement of the marbles on a board with holes. The standard game fills the entire board with marbles except hole in the middle of the board. The aim of the game is to empty the entire board except for a solitary peg in the central hole. you are only allowed to make legal 'jumps' to play the game.
When was solitaire invented?
The game was invented in the 17th Century.To The Best of our knowledge Solitaire was invented by a French aristocrat in the south of France late in the 17th Century.
The first evidence of the game in england can be traced back to the court of Louis XIV, and the specific date of 1697. Several paintings from that time show solitaire boards very similar to the Jaques games board.
