The game of Skittles has existed in various forms in Europe since the 14th Century and is the forerunner for the more recent Ten-Pin Bowling skittles.

The game of skittles is played with two or more skittles players taking it in turns to throw a skittles ball at six wooden skittles in an attempt to knock as many as possible over.
