Giant Garden and Backyard Dominoes set

Although the exact origins of Dominoes are unknown it is believed the game evolved from a game called Alquerque played in ancient Egypt as early as 600 B.C.

Jaques were making Dominoes sets and game tiles as early as 1795. The game features in our early pattern books and it would appear that the Dominoes were almost certainly made from ivory.

Standard domino sets today include 28 pieces, each of which consists of a line dividing it into two squares and a number of spots (or 'pips') in each square end. Standard domino sets have ends ranging from zero to six spots. Dominoes are rather generic gaming devices, like playing cards. Many different games can be played with a set of garden or giant Dominoes.
