He became world champion for several decades until he was well into his fifties and continued playing the game socially well into retirement. The mallet features a Lignum Vitae head fitted with solid brass rings and protective Tuftex faces to provide protection and help control long shots.  The handle is made from Hickory and has a wind-on competition grip.
