History of the Lewis Chess Set

It was in 1831 on the Isle of Lewis in the in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, a local shepherd found a Set of Famous Chessmen. The chessmen he discovered within the chamber are probably the second most famous chess set deign in the world. Chess history was Made

The Lewis pieces are on display in the British Museum and in the Museum of Edinburgh.  Visiting either museum is a worthy experience but with these wonderful handmade replicas lewis pieces you can own a little piece of chess history.
These wonderful pieces are made by us, along with the famous Staunton Chessmen.

This set does not include a chessboard

The pieces are a faithful replica of the original in ground marble resin.
The King chess piece are 90mm high with base 44mm wide x 34mm deep
(3.5 x 1.75 x 1.25 inch).
