Ancient Chess Set on Display Tour.

A fantastic country wide tour exhibition of one of the greatest discoveries ever made, the Lewis Chess Set in Scotland has been announced.

The Display will be of the the Lewis Chessmen, thought to have been made in Norway in the late 12th or 13th century. the Set was discovered on the Isle of Lewis in 1831 and has since always been refered to as the earliest chess pieces made.

Since then most of the chess pieces were kept in the British Museum, with 11 pieces on display in Scotland.
